‘ENFOQUES’ # 12
Taking advantage of the world hiatus caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, two Ecuadorian colleagues –Sebastián Crespo and Andrés Fernández, founders of the Bicubik Studio– had the brilliant idea of organizing virtual debates among Spanish-speaking photographers (two of them had architects and editors as protagonists, actually). So far, eleven of these meetings called 'enfoques' (approaches) have been produced. Each of them is focused on a specific topic featuring two guests. Together with the Chilean photographer Cristobal Palma , Duccio has been invited to close the ‘first season’ of an excellent initiative that we hope will continue in the future. The program, entitled 'Evolution and future of architectural photography', will be broadcast live on Thursday, May 28, 2020 at 23:00 Spanish time. Afterwards, you will be able to find this podcast, along with the remaining eleven, in the Bicubik YouTube channel.
DUCCIO'S WORKSHOP AT THE BARCELONA SCHOOL OF ARCHITECTURE POSTPONED
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the workshop 'Architecture Photography, a critical reading of the project' has been postponed until June 2021. The workshop, originally scheduled in June 2020 at the ETSAB-Barcelona School of Architecture, has been organized by Duccio in collaboration with Prof. Cristina Gastón and the ETSAB Director of Culture Enrique Granell. The course will also feature the intervention of the well-known British photographer Edmund Sumner.
The unusual duration of the seminar is intended to escape from the mainstream trend of the one or two days workshops generally offered worldwide. In those hurried encounters it is difficult to avoid a superficial approach and often there is no time for any theoretical reflection. In this workshop, on the contrary, we seek to blend practical outdoor shooting sessions with classes focused on the analysis and criticism of the project to be shot, the language of architectural photography and the comparison of different ways of approaching the subject.

In this context, Duccio has been invited to participate in the workshop by Enric Enrich 'Copyright in architectural images' (YouTube).
'DERECHO DE AUTORES'
This play on words between 'Copyright' and 'Authors’s right' - quite hard to translate in English - is how Duccio titled his contribution to 'Photography and Architecture Fundamentals'. Undoubtedly, it is an interesting compilation that gathers different views and visions - sometimes discordant - about the present state of architecture photographer profession.
